Reviews for My Daddy Has PTSD:

"Casey has written a wonderful children’s book that explains, in simple language, some of the intricacies involved with post-traumatic stress disorder, and how it affects the loved ones around the primary sufferer. In addition, like well loved classic children’s books, it speaks as well to the adult as it does to the child. Allowing for families and loved ones to begin to develop a functional understanding of the problem at hand. PTSD--a disorder, that is so rampant in our world today."

Reviews for Reign of the Night Creatures:

"James, Charlotte, and Susan and their dog, Clovensport get teleported to a magical place called ‘Everafter’, where they find someone or something has stolen the moon. When James suggests they go look for the moon, everyone on the council laughs at him, so the children run away. On their quest, they meet pirates, mythical animals, and mysterious creatures who try to stop them, but they also find help from unexpected friends. Each stop on their journey gets them one step closer to discovering what has happened to the moon, and to defeating the Night Creatures who are trying to take over the Everafter world. If you want to find out what happens in the rest of the story you need to read the book!

I like this book because it has mythical animals, which I really like, and teleporting, which I like as well. I would like to be friends with the characters; my favorite was Susan because she was brave even when she was scared of something. It was very exciting and kept me wanting to keep reading; I finished it in just two days! I didn’t want to put it down!"

"Casey Sean Harmon's 'The Everafter Chronicles: Reign of the Night Creatures' has the feel of C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia with the story revolving around three siblings and their dog who were pulled to another world and immersed in a magical adventure. It is a world where the fight between good and evil is ever present; a world called 'Everafter' where evil can be defeated by the presence of light. But how can evil be fought when, at night, the moon is nowhere to be found? Can these children save 'Everafter'? I love Harmon's writing style. It is simple, concise, and organized. The way he develops his story and his characters is seamless. I know that if I have kids, this book will be one of those that I'd read over and over again, simply because Casey Sean Harmon has been able to effectively teach courage, compassion, generosity, trust, and most especially love. The way Harmon ended 'Reign of the Night Creatures' reminds the reader to value not just friends, but also family. Casey Sean Harmon is also able to teach the reader the value of community and teamwork; that we are not alone in solving the problems of the world and that the people we meet are instrumental in our success."

"[Harmon] provides a timely challenge to modernist thinking while pitting light against darkness and raising questions of providence and self-determination."

"Reign of the Night Creatures is an action-packed modern story in the brilliant tradition of the Chronicles of Narnia. James and his sisters are kept on their toes in the imaginative world of Everafter, where the battle of light versus dark rages. Who knows what darkness's next move will be?"
